THE FLAIR OF SQUARE NECK DRESS WITH BASQUE SKIRT

The sun sinks behind the harbour and rebounds off the tuff façades, threads between wrought-iron balconies, and rests on the square-cut bodice, framing the collarbones with the clarity of a shard of pure light. The first glint already slips along the basque line, leaving a golden trace that foretells the amber of dusk.

Through the narrow lanes the basque sculpts the waist and the skirt, full of soft pleats, catches the reddening sun. The fibres drink in the warm amber and return it in shifting flashes that dart from fold to fold; each step grazes the ancient paving as though touching the beat of a hidden melody, and the buildings’ shadows open to welcome the glitter dancing across the fabric.

On the seafront twilight turns the Tyrrhenian into a rosy mirror, and windows strike sparks that chase the hem, tinting it with ever-renewed liquid amber; her pace slows, almost a choreography with those roaming reflections, while evening wraps her form in a calm suspended between town and sea, guarding the light gathered in every pleat.
